you don't fkn need to do anything to the fan to turn it into a power generator other than regulating the output. every wind turbine is a fan and vice versa.
I'm confused as to why he had to cut in and glue in magnets. I had always thought that any motor could be a generator if its shaft was spun. Obviously, I'm wrong, but can someone explain why he had to cut and hack it like that?
Two wiring problems …. 1st , ALL the cut wires should have insulated ends , they might short out randomly otherwise …. 2nd , the twisted output wires should be SOLDERED prior to fitting the heat shrink … these little tweaks will ensure a MUCH more reliable product ………………. DAVE™🛑

Why did you modify the motor at first place. Any electrical motor that is spun generates electricity. The way you made it with glueing steady magnets makes it unbalanced and increases inefficiency of the motor to the sky.
No idea why people make self help videos and when viewers have basic questions the person can't be bothered to answer any of them.
Also at the end of the video what is powering that fan with your cell phone and blinking LED lights attached because that ISN'T the wind blowing those blades that fast indoors and definitely not those magnets doing it either … Most likely its with the aid of Adobe premiere

take a BLD fan instead of old fan. that has magnet already.. can be directly used.
