Latest: Biden’s team signaling a more aggressive posture toward the press

NEW YORK -- Occupants of the White House have grumbled over news coverage practically since the place was built. Now it's Joe Biden's turn: With a reelection campaign underway, there are signs that those behind the president are starting to more aggressively and publicly challenge how he is portrayed.Within the past two weeks, an administration aide sent an unusual letter to the White House Correspondents' Association complaining about coverage of a special counsel's report on Biden's handling of classified documents. In addition, the president's campaign objected to its perception that negative stories about Biden's age got more attention than remarks by Donald Trump about the NATO alliance. It's not quite “enemy of the people” territory. But it is noticeable.“It is a strategy,” said Frank...

Just In: Film critic called out by fans for refusing to review Madame Web

A popular film critic has been called out by fans for refusing to review Marvel's latest movie release, Madame Web.For those not looking for a conventional love story on Valentine's Day, Madame Web was the perfect choice as it released on 14 February. The new release tells the story of Cassandra Webb, a New York City paramedic who starts to show signs of clairvoyance. But - in typical Marvel fashion - great power comes with great responsibility as she must protect three woman, played by Euphoria's Sydney Sweeney, Isabella Merced and Celeste O'Connor, from a man who wants them dead. Of course, the S.J. Clarkson directed project was not as looked forward to compared to other Marvel projects. But it is still a Marvel film at the end of the day, so that's pretty exciting, right?Well, not exactly...

Latest: Jon Stewart’s ’The Daily Show’ Return Watched By A Ton Of People

On Monday Jon Stewart did something he hadn’t done in nine years: He hosted The Daily Show. His stay will be temporary and limited: He’ll only be there through the election and only on Mondays. Who knows? Perhaps things will get so weird — it’s happened before! — that he’ll decide to stay on. (Or maybe he’ll go back to rescuing animals, another pursuit.) His maiden return drew some sharp reactions, but people were apparently stoked to see him back, at least if you judge the ratings. Per Deadline, Monday’s episode drew in a ton of viewers. There were 930,000 linear viewers on Comedy Central. Across other stations where it was simulcast — CMT, Logo, MTV, MTV2, Paramount Network, Pop, and TV Land — and incluing repeats, it added another 920,000. That brings it to a total of 1.85 million viewe...

Latest: Tory Burch set out to make the everyday ‘sublime’ with Fall-Winter collection at NY Fashion Week

NEW YORK -- Shimmer and glimmer with a dash of the majestic was on display Monday as Tory Burch showed her 2024 Fall Winter Collection at New York Fashion week.Inspired by ordinary objects like a lampshade or well-worn coat, Burch set out to redefine the form of her designs with this collection.“I started with the concept of how to make the everyday sublime,” Burch told the Associated Press at a post-show interview. She went on to express her desire to present the silhouette in a fresh, new way by using different textures and creative ways to join seams to create a “light” feel.“I became really obsessed with the idea of volume, but not a heaviness.”Emily Ratajkowski, Paloma Elsesser, and Irina Shayk, who closed out the show in a Tinsel Raffia coat, were among the models showing off the coll...

Latest: From doinks to SpongeBob, technology to play a huge role in the CBS presentation of the Super Bowl

Inspiration sometimes happens, or in this case, doinks, at the most opportune times.CBS Sports’ Jason Cohen and Mike Francis had end zone seats during last year’s Super Bowl when Kansas City kicker Harrison Butker had a 42-yard field goal attempt that caromed off the left upright.Cohen, the division’s vice president of remote technical operations, immediately texted someone at the league’s broadcasting department about placing cameras inside the uprights. On Sunday, the doink camera will make its debut.“We’re excited. We’re also not just reliant on a doink. Obviously, if we get one, I’ll be very excited and probably high-five each other in the truck, but they can also get other shots from the field from that unique perspective,” Cohen said. The doink cam is one of many innovations that CBS w...

Latest: Funimation will stream its last anime on April 2

Sony's Funimation purchased Crunchyroll from WarnerMedia for $1.175 billion in 2020, and they kicked off their transformation into a unified anime subscription service under the latter's name a year after the deal was announced. By 2022, Crunchyroll has already added more than 50 shows that were either exclusive to Funimation and weren't available with dubs to its library. Now, it sounds like they're almost done unifying their services: Funimation has revealed that it's going to shut down its old app and website on April 2.In Funimation's End of Services' page, it said most of its content has already been migrated to Crunchyroll. Those who've yet to leave Funimation, will automatically be transferred — all they need to do is use their existing credentials to log into Crunchyroll's website....
