Live: Praggnanandhaa Ranks As India No 1 Player In Live Rankings

Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa, the teenage chess sensation from India, has once again cemented his place at the top by becoming the No. 1 ranked player in India according to FIDE’s live ratings. This achievement comes after his victory over German GM Vincent Keymer at the prestigious Prague International Chess Festival 2024 Masters.

With this result, Praggnanandhaa crossed 2750 for the first time in live ratings. He is now the World no.11 with a live rating of 2751.9 and became India’s no.1 in live rankings thereafter.

Praggnanandhaa’s ascent to the top is a testament to his extraordinary talent and unwavering dedication to the game. He burst onto the global chess scene at a young age but has slowly but surely carved out his own niche.

With his recent triumph, Praggnanandhaa has also overtaken the legendary Viswanathan Anand, who had moved ahead of him.

Earlier, in the first round of the Masters tournament in the Prague Chess Festival, Praggnanandhaa, along with Nodirbek Abdusattorov and Parham Maghsoodloo, scored full points to become the event’s early co-leaders. Pragg had won that game in fine attacking style as well.

As Praggnanandhaa’s live rating continues to climb, it reflects his consistent excellence in tournaments across the globe. He has already defeated several top chess players, including the likes of Magnus Carlsen, Ding Liren. His rapid rise and fearless playing style have captivated chess enthusiasts worldwide, who eagerly anticipate his future achievements.
