THEY DON’T KNOW FREEDOM

Re: Convoy protesters return to Parliament Hill to mark two-year anniversary of Emergencies Act, online, Feb. 17

Freedom? Those who returned to Parliament Hill last weekend wouldn’t know what freedom was if it walked up and kicked them in the butt.
For the most part, Canadians’ exposure to the world centres on vacationing in either Cuba, Florida or the Dominican Republic. Go out and see the rest of the world. Then and only then come back and tell me Canadians don’t have freedom.
You want to protest? Try protesting the cost of living. Or better still, try protesting about the state of the education system. Something everyone can relate to.

POLITICIAN CODE INSTEAD
Re: CHARLEBOIS: Why all political parties agree grocer code of conduct necessary, online, Feb. 17

I wish our politicians had a code of conduct instead of forcing grocery retailers to have one. That will only result in more Canadians being dependent on food banks.
Canadians have to wise up to electing people who are too into themselves to realize or admit that they are responsible for price increases with their policies. Like most kids in a playground, they simply blame others.

ANOTHER DAY LOST IN THE ECLIPSE
Re: Moon blocks out classes; OCDSB closing schools for April 8 eclipse, Feb. 17
When I was younger, my parents would tell me not to look at the sun during a solar eclipse. I wouldn’t look, then we’d carry on with our day. Little did I know that my parents shouldn’t have given me this responsibility, but instead should have demanded schools be closed on solar eclipse days.

It’s lucky for today’s students that our left-leaning, all-knowing Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is closing schools for the entire day on April 8. So, yet again, students will be out of school for another full day.
Remind me why we need the OCDSB.
