Breaking News: Cybersecurity top revenue driver for bulk of MSPs, Kaseya report finds | IT Business

Kaseya, a provider of unified IT management and security software for managed service providers (MSPs) and small to midsize business (SMBs), today released its 2024 MSP Benchmark Report, which surveyed close to 1,000 MSPs from the Americas, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and APAC (Asia Pacific) regions and includes responses from both IT professionals and executives. Not surprisingly, cybersecurity remained a top priority and an area of growth for MSPs, with 73 per cent of those polled saying it is a top revenue driver for their business. The natural gas industry lost its initial bid to strip key climate-friendly measures out of national homebuilding guidelines, HuffPost has learned. The rules in the model building code will require new homes to come equipped with the circuitry to hook up induction stoves and electric car chargers, and will be used as a benchmark in almost every state. Breaking News: More than 2,500 fraud connections being cut daily, say DoT officials | Economy & Policy News – Business Standard

The Department of Telecommunications’ (DoTs’) Sanchar Sathi portal is discontinuing more than 2,500 fraudulent connections on a daily basis, officials said on Monday.  The portal, launched last year, is the government's primary tool to protect mobile phone users from frauds.   Sanchar Saathi detects fraudulent connections and triggers re-verification. Failing to reverify, the number is disconnected.  Questions have been raised on the process followed by the government. But the DoT claims the established process of built-in checks and balances has resulted in zero complaints or grievances till date against the portal.    The portal will launch an app version soon. Breaking News: Bloomberg to add Indian bonds to emerging market indices in January 2025 | Economy & Policy News – Business Standard

Bloomberg on Tuesday announced including Indian government securities called “Fully Accessible Route (FAR) bonds” in the Bloomberg Emerging Market (EM) Local Currency Government Index and related indices. This will be done over 10 months, starting January 31, 2025, instead of September 2024, which was envisaged earlier. This is the second major global index that will be including Indian bonds. JP Morgan had announced index inclusion from June 28, 2024.   “Indian FAR bonds will be included in the Bloomberg EM Local Currency Government indices with an initial weight  of 10 (per cent) of their full market value on January 31, 2025,” a press release from Bloomberg said. Breaking News: Canadian School Book Exchange files for bankruptcy

A company that provides textbooks to schools across Canada has filed for bankruptcy. Searchfast Systems Limited – a Mississaugua, Ont.-based company that operated the Canadian School Book Exchange and BookPower – filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 27. The company bought and sold books and learning resources for elementary and secondary schools throughout the country. "Searchfast operated for over 50 years, however, due to various factors the Company was no longer able to meet its obligations as they became due, and as a result, filed an assignment in bankruptcy," a statement from court-appointed bankruptcy trustee BDO Canada Limited explained.
