Solo travel to countries like the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Vietnam is gaining ground: Report | Lifestyle

Dubai. Photo: ShutterstockMore and more Indians are looking to travel alone to countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Singapore and Vietnam, according to a report on Tuesday. Solo travelers accounted for about 65 percent of visa applications for the United Arab Emirates, 60 percent for Egypt, 40 percent for Singapore and 45 percent for Vietnam, according to a report by the online platform for Atlys visa applications. The report is based on visa applications submitted for processing for travel during the summer of this year on the Atlys platform. Atlys is a mobile visa application application that has e-visa mandate for over 133 countries. BBC Studios Entertainment has been commissioned to produce Alison Hammond's Big Weekend, a new entertainment series which will see Hammond take celebrity interviewing in a new direction as she spends two days with some of the UK's biggest celebrities. In the six-part series, which will premiere next year on BBC One and iPlayer, in each episode, filmed across the UK, Hammond will spend 48 hours with a celebrity where he can meet them.
