BBC Studios Entertainment has been commissioned to produce Alison Hammond’s Big Weekend, a new entertainment series which will see Hammond take celebrity interviewing in a new direction as she spends two days with some of the UK’s biggest celebrities.
In the six-part series, which will premiere next year on BBC One and iPlayer, in each episode, filmed across the UK, Hammond will spend 48 hours with a celebrity where he can meet them.
Kalpna Patel-Knight, head of BBC entertainment, says: “Alison is one of the UK’s warmest presenters and it’s no surprise that big-name celebrities are lining up for her to spend the weekend at their homes. She’s going to be great!”

Alison Hammond’s Big Weekend (6 x 30′) is made by BBC Studios Entertainment and was commissioned by Kalpna Patel-Knight, BBC Entertainment Director. The BBC’s commissioning editor is Katie Taylor.
