We have arrived at the last week of February, which can only mean one thing: the final lap of the awards show circuit. Before the conclusive Oscars ceremony on 10 March, however, comes the SAG Awards 2024. This year marks its 30th iteration, and serves as a continuation of the ongoing grapple between blockbuster hits from the previous year. Namely, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Greta Gertwig’s Barbie, both of which were nominated for best motion picture cast as well as best supporting male actor. The same can be said for the television front, with Hulu’s fine-dining centred drama, The Bear, coming head-to-head with Apple TV’s Ted Lasso across multiple categories.
And that’s far from the only showdown at this awards show. The red carpet, too, was a battleground, with our favourite thespians showing up sporting their most stunning beauty ensembles that comprised glittery pink eyeshadow, high-shine pouts, and more. A common theme amongst the glitterati at the SAG Awards 2024? Understated warm-toned make-up. Jessica Chastain and Emma Stone sported a variation of soft apricot eyeshadow shades paired with candied lipstick, while Selena Gomez as well as Ayo Edebiri opted to dust their miens in shimmering, bronzed powders. Magnificent manes were also spotted, ranging from Joey King’s retro accordion headband to Laverne Cox’s intricate braid.

Talk about paying homage to the Y2K era. Joey King is a vision in frosted eyeshadow and poker-straight strands held back by the ultimate 2000s accessory: the accordion headband.

Ayo Edebiri
Now you see it, now you don’t. Ayo Edebiri adds a whimsical touch to a tried-and-tested smokey eye and mauve lip combo by adding a peekaboo braid to the mix.

You can’t go wrong with a striking red lip. Laverne Cox turns heads with a vivid pout and a statuesque hair ‘do that radiates regality.
