Immigration is not the cause of the UK’s poor economic performance. Immigration increases GDP/capita if the marginal income of immigration exceeds average income. To say as Farage does that of course it leads to lower average GDP is poor economies and Farage knows this.
The cause of the UK’s poor performance are several fold, and include:
• Defence spending flowing out of the U.K. to the US.
• Hollowing out of the economy after Thatcher removing resilience, meaning that the 2008 crash hit the U.K. especially hard
• Austerity
• Brexit
• Growing inequality
• Risk aversion towards entrepreneurship
• Deep routed problems almost a century in the making.

Rent is high because in London the property landscape is being owned by developers, huge asset management firms, foreign investors and becoming part of property portfolios. It’s being hoarded so no one else can have it and has to pay their eye watering rents and the BTR = build to rent developers and Black Rock the world biggest asset management company in the world is buying up and investing in UK brick manufactures to control the property prices keeping them higher and higher
All immigrants need to go into government sponsored work programs. Working for minimum wage. Until they pay that way. Also could put them in the army. nobody should be sitting around doing nothing collecting benefits in a country that they have not contributed anything to
How about governments ban hedge funds and big corporations from buying homes? Which are driving the prices up, which makes it far more unrealostic to one day buy and own a house as a normal worker, and be stuck in rental market "slavery" just because of wrong policies. How about you work on that, sure migration, but that's a small % of a problem anywhere, its the policies and mismanagement that are deliberately making us poor, and keeping us poor!
