I don’t know why you’re “surprised” at the quality of the visuals. Illumination films always look good. Maybe their typical art direction isn’t your cup of tea, but you can’t deny that they have artists on staff, making sure the movie looks pleasant and cohesive

i thought at first that the dancing and the parrot was a refrence to the movie "Rio", turns out the parrots name litterly is rio… so yeaah…. its a refrence and might even be basing itself on the sequel "Rio 2" where they have kids and our main charater who is a dad ALSO so happens to be homesick and doesnt wanna leave home, but it does go in a diffrent direction.
This movie gave me RIO vibes. And its really good family movie. this is the family friendliest movie ever
