Claire Foy brought sophisticated glamour to the BAFTAs 2024 red carpet. Wearing an embellished lace Giorgio Armani Privé dress, the star of The Crown and All of Us Strangers looked every inch the movie star, thanks to her classic hair and make-up with a modern twist. Foy’s glam team – make-up artist Kelly Cornwell and king of the waves, hairstylist George Northwood – worked together to create the nominee’s classic Veronica Lake-inspired beauty look.
Northwood, who has known Foy since she first visited him in his salon almost 10 years ago, makes it very clear how fond he is of the acclaimed actor. “Claire is really, really lovely – very down to earth and just really sweet and fun to be around. She has good energy and good vibes,” the celebrity hairstylist says. “I love her to bits.”
Stylist Nicky Yates was the third person in Claire’s BTS triumvirate on BAFTA night. “It’s a team effort between the stylist, make-up and myself,” Northwood says. “We thought with the dress, something kind of modern would look quite good. Because the dress was beautiful and quite classical, we thought to sort of mix it up with a slightly modern edge [to the beauty] would be good.”
