None of it makes sense. The denial could be for something else but Schengen folks are much more collaborative than US visa folks. I wasn’t even finding dates for my trip and i email them and they went out of the way to get me a date, time and ultimately approval.

Germany is easier, France and Spain can be difficult
Apply for France or Belgium, they will take it and return passport within a week. It’s easy processes in VFS NYC.
